1 of 3 one of a kind rings inspired by my love for the sea, mountain and nature. Currently showing at @Cliftonrocksjewellery until January.

The gold ring features a statement mint blue tourmaline stone, set in a simple bezel with a signature double linear band.

The engraving details are revealed with daily movement. With a ray engraved on one side and whale shark on the other. I've also added a few turquoise blue diamonds to add to the sparkles.

The complete collection is now exhibiting at @cliftonrocksjewellery from 24th October to 12 January.

This collection grew out of pure play, exploring the traditional Japanese wax technique Mitsuro Hikime. These fluid forms echo natural myths of the sea as they twist, knead and stretch.

Each piece is a one off that captures a unique moment in time- celebrating individually and asymmetry.

A regular customer approached me for a special commission to celebrate her two daughters—one born in September and the other in March. She envisioned transforming my baby steps studs into hoops, incorporating each child's birthstone.

Her plan is to eventually pass these charms down to her daughters as pendants, embodying the true essence of heirloom jewelry. To make them even more meaningful, we added a delicate initial engraving on the back of each charm.

Creating jewelry with deep sentimental value is something I truly love, especially for this wonderful family, whom I’ve had the joy of watching grow and flourish.

Throwback to this remodelling commission I did earlier this year.18ct yellow gold set with a 4.5mm brilliant cut diamond.

I'm so lucky to have customers who understand your aesthetic and completely trust your vision. It has been a real pleasure to make this pendant.

This is a one of a kind silver brooch I made few years ago for an exhibition, inspired by beaded embroidery on textile.
I wanted to create a tactile surface contrasting with the sharp geometrical frame.

Often I look back on my work and would already fallen out of love with a few pieces. Two years on and this brooch stood the test of time and I still very much like the design. Very fortunate to be part of this (new and growing) community. Last Sunday, a bunch of Bristol jewellers met up for a walk, coffee and went away with a vision to share and collaborate in the coming years.

Making jewellery and running your own business can be a lonely and often filled with doubts and obstacles. It doesn't have to be. I am very lucky to work with 6 other makers and we support each other in every possible way. I wanted to extend that love and support.

It's a tiny wax with 5 irregular claws. Still very rough at this stage and probably don't make a lot of sense. But thought it would be nice to show everyone the transformation in stages.

HOBBY

I used to really look forward to weekend when I was working in London as an architect. It meant that I get to go learn about jewellery making at @citylitjewellery. It was just a hobby for me back then.

10 years on, even though I'm full time goldsmiths, I still look forward to weekends and late night to do my own work. My hobby has blend into my passion, work, everyday life and I simply LOVE it. I am very fortunate and grateful for it.
So happy to be on the bench, anytime.

New bench alert

Goo morning!! 🌞I can't tell you how excited and happy in the past few days. Been busy setting up my new bench in my new house. We've left the water and moved on land earlier this year. Tying to juggle our time between decorating our house while fixing the narrow boat ready for sale. I finally have some time to start thinking about my studio.

It's slowly coming together.
It was meant to be nicely fitted out and made, but I simply cannot wait to get started. I'll still want it done just have to wait until next year.

I’m back!

Admittedly I have been absent on IG (for good reason), mostly because I’ve been busy with house moving and saying goodbye to our beloved boat and simply enjoying life! I’ve also worked on some commissions and exciting new work which i will share with you in the up coming post. I’m now back on my bench busy making stock for christmas, including these baby steps studs waiting to be set with diamonds and sapphires.

This one of a kind rosecut rhodolite has been sitting in my draw since my last visit at Inhorganta in 2015!! Finally found its place and set it in a 9ct yellow knife edge style ring.
I originally had it planned to make it into a pair of earring with 3 other rosecut slice. But i felt it was to pretty just to have it in one piece. So ive decided to make it into 2 rings and 1 pair of earring.

I think it was the right call.

The people has spoken!!! It was a close call, but most people voted for the hot pink. 💘

So I've set it!!! I've finally able to take a better photo with proper lighting to show you the colour in this tourmaline. The peachy purple undertone just changes with the light. I didnt put any filter in this photo!! Now I've got to price it up and post it to my stockist @morganjewellery in Penarth, Wales.

DAY 16 // HELPER

I dont have the luxury of having an actual helper, I pretty do everything myself from making, photography, admin, branding, selling to social media! My time get divided which mean i dont often get as much making as i would like to.
But i do have a lot of support from my girls at Clifton Rocks, i go to them for advice, ideas and we all dream together.
I also have my community, i love catching up with and have a laugh with kika, Tim, Bob, Izzy, Vic and Maria. They are what makes clifton village very special.

DAY 9 // HOW ITS MADE

The principles of my work come from very common element, silver wire/sheets. The idea is to create a texture using singular element. Turning lines into plane, planes into volume.
It was surprisingly difficult to execute to get the right balance of ratio. It was a fun process to play with different combination. I've used incredible amount of solder to filled the gaps between the wires. And quickly learnt to control temperature and flow of the solder.
The simple linear band shows the texture on top, sides and the inside of the ring. I just love how textile and elegant it is. The rest of my collection seems to flow and inspiration flooding in after this piece was made.

DAY 8// FLATLAY

I had to google what flatlay means just to make sure I'm doing the right thing today. I've decided to do a ring version!
Don't they just look lovely altogether?? This is my ring collection whilch I've build up in the past year and planning to expand them too.

DAY 5// Photography

This is often the photo I take. Straight off the bench from my phone. Hopefully there are enough sparkles and interesting details there to distract you from the bluetack thats been holding it up.
I work mostly in the evenings, so when i finished a piece, I dont tend to have the luxury to photograph it under soft daylight with beautiful props, nor the time to stage it. It's a real shame as very often it doesn't capture the beauty it deserves.
My goal this year is to do a professional lookbook and some model shots to enhace my branding and do its justice. If anyone has got any tips or recommendation on photorapher, feel free to DM me.
P. s. This is my latest Bespoke commission featuring a large checkerboard cushion cut green quartz, in silver. I made a lady very happy on her birthday 🎂.

DAY 4 FAVOURITE TO MAKE// Happy Sunday everyone! My favourate things to make is always my next project! Not that I get bored easily but I simply have too many ideas and not enough time to make. I'm constantly working on new projects in the backgrounds as some takes months to finish and always in search of gemstones. I'm also a little bit bias and tends to make more rings and earrings than pendant.
Here's a sneak peak of my latest earring, sparkling diamond set in 9ct yellow gold mini steps, with a very unique strawberry quartz inverted drops. I love the pink inclusions that is just full of character. Soon to be available at @morganjewellery and @cliftonrocksjewellery

DAY 3 How I started // It went back 10 years ago (Eeeks!) when I was still working as an Architect in London. I joined in with a few of my colleagues to jewellery making class at @citylit initially to kill some weekends and turns out it's just really addicted!! These was a set of his/her rings I've made by the end of my 10 weeks course, I am still very pleased with it!
Since then I have enrolled a few other workshops & private tuitions to pick up skills and techniques that interest me. I moved to Bristol/Bath 4 years ago, Clare from @cliftonrocksjewellery has taken me under her wings where I continue to grow stronger as a jeweller, designer and creative business woman. It was the best decision I've ever made!

My work is usually a result of many mistakes. I dont always start with a sketch, but i would spend a good amount of time make many mock ups and play with proportion until I'm satisfied with the results. I find that with Jewellery, even 0.1mm makes a huge difference, especially in this collection when I'm duplicating elements.
This is a mock up of a brooch I've been making, for a special brooch exhibition at @morganjewellery. ; celebrating their shop anniversary at the same time.
Ive decided it needs to be made slightly bigger to show of the textures. To see the final results, pop into their beautiful gallery in Penarth from mid October.
